Choosing Libner means placing your trust in a French bodywork manufacturer specializing in heavy vehicle bodywork for rigid trucks, trailers and semi-trailers. For over 60 years, Libner has supported manufacturers, transport operators, logistics providers and OEMs in the design and production of robust, high-performance and durable industrial bodywork solutions.
Thanks to its in-house engineering department, Libner designs custom-built heavy vehicle bodywork tailored to the specific constraints of each industry: handling, transport, logistics, special machinery and industrial applications. Our teams of technicians and engineers work closely with our customers to optimize industrialization, safety, reliability and equipment longevity.
Flexible and custom-built products
At Libner, heavy vehicle bodywork is above all a precise response to each customer’s requirements. No two projects are alike, which is why we have made custom design our standard. Thanks to our in-house engineering department, we analyze every technical, regulatory and operational constraint to design bodywork perfectly suited to real-world operating conditions.
Our solutions cover rigid trucks, trailers and semi-trailers, with fully customized configurations: quick-opening systems, double decks, specific chassis and subframes, interior fittings, integrated handling systems, structural reinforcements and equipment dedicated to transport and logistics operations.
This tailor-made approach optimizes productivity, safety and vehicle lifespan. Libner supports its customers from design to production, integrating industrialization, operation and maintenance requirements from the very beginning. Each bodywork solution is designed to evolve over time and adapt to future operational constraints.
Robust and durable products
Robustness lies at the heart of Libner’s DNA. Our heavy vehicle bodywork, metal assemblies and industrial structures are designed to withstand the most demanding mechanical, climatic and operational constraints. Each bodywork solution for rigid trucks, trailers and semi-trailers is developed to ensure long-term structural integrity, even under intensive operating conditions. We carefully select our materials — including steel, stainless steel and specific alloys — to guarantee high mechanical strength, excellent durability and outstanding structural stability.
Our industrial processes — metal fabrication, welding, machining, laser cutting, bending, assembly and finishing — are fully mastered in-house. This complete control allows us to monitor every stage of production and ensure consistent quality, high reliability and extended product lifespan. Libner bodywork is designed to minimize wear, reduce maintenance requirements and deliver optimal profitability throughout the vehicle’s entire life cycle.
As part of this commitment to durability, Libner also offers heavy vehicle bodywork retrofit solutions — a high-performance and responsible alternative to purchasing new vehicles. Retrofit consists of retaining the vehicle chassis while replacing, refurbishing or transforming all or part of the existing bodywork. This process allows a rigid truck, trailer or semi-trailer to be adapted to new uses, evolving business activities, regulatory requirements or modernization needs, without any intervention on the tractor unit.
Heavy vehicle bodywork retrofit significantly extends the service life of industrial vehicles while benefiting from modernized, higher-performance, safer bodywork that complies with current standards. This solution represents a major economic advantage for transport operators, fleet managers and industrial companies by limiting investment while maintaining a high level of operational performance.
Beyond its economic benefits, retrofit fully aligns with a sustainable and responsible approach. By reusing the existing chassis, this solution considerably reduces raw material consumption, industrial production emissions and the vehicle’s overall carbon footprint. It actively promotes circular economy principles, industrial waste reduction and the enhancement of existing equipment, while addressing the major environmental challenges facing the transport and logistics sectors.
Thanks to its expertise in industrial bodywork, Libner supports its customers in their heavy vehicle retrofit projects by delivering reliable, robust, durable solutions perfectly suited to both current and future operational requirements.
A modern machine park
LIBNER operates a modern, high-performance machinery park, a key pillar of its industrial capacity and production quality. Among its state-of-the-art equipment is the TRUMPF TRULASER 3040 laser cutting machine, a latest-generation fiber laser technology that significantly increases production capacity, processing speed and cutting precision, while considerably reducing material waste.
With a power output of 4,000 watts, this machine is capable of cutting almost all metals — including all types of steel, stainless steel, aluminum and numerous alloys — up to 20 mm thick for steel and 30 mm for aluminum. This ensures great versatility in the manufacturing of metal parts, sub-assemblies and industrial assemblies. Its maximum working area of 4 x 2 meters allows the cutting of large-format components perfectly suited to heavy vehicle bodywork, chassis, subframes, structural elements, industrial sheets and body components for rigid trucks, trailers and semi-trailers.
The fiber laser cutting technology used by LIBNER provides exceptional cutting quality, precise tolerances, clean edges and excellent repeatability, meeting the high standards of industrial manufacturing, industrial bodywork, material handling and special machinery sectors. This innovative solution enables LIBNER to efficiently meet all types of requirements, both for the in-house production of heavy vehicle bodywork and for industrial subcontracting needs, in small, medium or large production runs, while strictly respecting deadlines, quantities, costs and quality constraints.
To further optimize productivity, the machine is connected to an automatic loading and unloading system that transfers parts to an integrated storage unit. This automated system stores raw materials and machined parts in secure compartments, providing an organized, reliable storage solution perfectly suited to industrial workflows. Automation improves production continuity, limits manual handling, enhances safety and ensures optimal part traceability.
Thanks to this high-performance laser cutting equipment, integrated within a comprehensive machinery park combining machining, metal fabrication, welding, bending, assembly and finishing operations, LIBNER is able to deliver complete, high-performance and sustainable industrial solutions. This full mastery of manufacturing processes enables LIBNER to guarantee consistent quality, high responsiveness and perfect adaptation to the technical requirements of heavy vehicle bodywork, metal assemblies and custom industrial projects — confirming its position as a bodywork manufacturer and a trusted industrial partner.

Over 60 years of experience
For more than 60 years, Libner Industrial Bodywork has embodied innovation, passion for the trade and the excellence of French know-how in the field of heavy vehicle bodywork. The story began on October 1st, 1965 in Saint-Lin, when Joseph Libner founded Libner Heavy Vehicle Bodywork, supported by his wife Geneviève and soon joined by his brothers Michel and Daniel. At the time, resources were modest, but ambition, creativity and the desire to innovate were already at the heart of the company’s DNA.
The first projects focused on steel-frame bodywork with wooden panels, followed by steel and aluminum sheet metal fittings for live animal transport. Very quickly, the acquisition of the first welding station marked a turning point, enabling Libner to diversify and expand its range of expertise. Joseph Libner stood out for his boldness: no order was refused, no technical challenge feared. This open-minded approach forged the reputation of a bodywork manufacturer capable of meeting all demands, even the most unconventional.
From the 1970s onward, Libner developed innovative solutions for regional transport operators, optimizing load volumes, handling times and vehicle profitability. In 1975, the assembly of the 100th custom-built body marked a symbolic milestone in the company’s growth. In 1989, Libner initiated a major transformation with the creation of a dedicated engineering department, confirming its long-term commitment to research, development and product innovation, while opening up to international markets.
The year 1992 remains an iconic milestone with the extraordinary Paris–Moscow–Beijing rally, during which Libner semi-trailers crossed deserts, tracks and extreme conditions without mechanical failure. This human and technical achievement demonstrated the reliability, robustness and quality of Libner solutions on an international scale.
In the early 2000s, Hervé Libner revolutionized the industry with the creation of the Openbox — an innovative bodywork solution featuring sliding aluminum panels, combining rapid opening, safety, strength and ease of use. This concept quickly became a benchmark in the heavy vehicle bodywork market.
In 2005, the family legacy was passed on with François Libner taking over management, while the group continued to structure and grow through the integration of several complementary subsidiaries, strengthening its industrial and technological expertise. Libner continued its commitment to innovation with forward-looking projects such as the BIL eco-delivery solution, demonstrating its ability to anticipate the environmental challenges of transport.
Today, more than six decades after its foundation, Libner builds on this unique heritage to deliver heavy vehicle bodywork, custom solutions, retrofit services, innovative systems and sustainable equipment, while remaining true to its founding values: innovation, reliability, boldness and industrial excellence. This experience forms a solid foundation serving transport operators, industrial companies and logistics providers, and establishes Libner as a leading player in French industrial bodywork.
